Cecilia is a qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor. Cecilia holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Practitioner Skills for Eating Disorders. In addition to her private practice, she currently work as a counselling manager and clinical supervisor for a charity supporting children and families. Cecilia has worked extensively with young people and their parents and with adults experiencing mental health difficulties.
The approach is Integrative, which means that she uses elements from Psychodynamic theory, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered thinking in her practice.
The primary
aim is to create a safe and confidential therapeutic relationship, within
which together a client an explore their life and experiences with Cecilia
Cecilia is experienced in providing therapeutic help to individuals who are grappling
with difficulties such as:
- feeling stressed and anxious
- coming to terms with losses such as bereavement, divorce or redundancy
- lacking confidence, self-esteem or having feelings of underachievement
- an inability to make or sustain relationships
- being involved in unsatisfactory or destructive relationships
- feeling depressed, sad or empty
- lacking a sense of purpose in life
- having unresolved issues from the past
- sexual identity
- eating disorders
- problems at work
- family conflicts
Cecilia is a professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abides by its codes of ethics.
